Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also go in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Silvery green leaves and a trunk give a Mediterranean look.
Con: Does not purify the air or grow over time the way a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you need to wipe the leaves with a damp cloth now and then.

Details

This artificial Olive Tree (Olea Europaea) instantly brings a Mediterranean holiday atmosphere into your home with lifelike silver-green leaves and a natural trunk. Maintenance-free and fresh all year round — ideal for those who want the Southern European look without the care concerns.

Species: Olea europaea (artificial plant) · Height: 117 cm · Pot size: ø20 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant is modelled on the olive tree (Olea europaea), with a woody trunk and narrow, grey-green leaves with a silvery underside. It measures 117 cm and stands in a pot of ø20 cm, a size for the floor beside a table or in a corner of the kitchen. The tree needs no light and no water, so you can place it where a living olive tree would find it too dark, such as a corridor or an office entrance. It keeps the same shape all year round and never sheds a leaf. Dust it now and then with a soft cloth or duster. If you'd like to dress it up, put it in a decorative pot chosen separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Olea europaea

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial olive tree?

Wipe the leaves now and then with a slightly damp cloth and it will look fresh again. The artificial olive tree needs no further care: no water, no feed and no sun.

How realistic does an artificial olive tree look?

It's a lifelike replica, with silvery green leaves and a natural-looking trunk. From a few metres away most people can't tell it's artificial. Up close, or if you touch the leaves, you will notice it isn't real.

Will an artificial olive tree fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial olive tree comes in a standard pot (ø20 cm, depending on the size). Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot is hidden. As it never needs watering, the decorative pot does not need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial olive tree outdoors or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial olive tree is UV and weather resistant, so it can also go outdoors, for example on a patio or balcony. The colours stay vibrant, even in the sun. Outdoors, do place it securely or weigh down the pot so it does not blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial olive tree delivered?

We ship the artificial olive tree well protected in a closed box. Large items are delivered by our own courier. Within the Netherlands, orders placed Sunday to Wednesday usually arrive within 2 to 3 working days, and orders placed Thursday to Saturday within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will arrange a solution.
