At XXLplant all plants come straight from growers who work to the strictest sustainability and quality standards in ornamental horticulture. You recognise that by two certifications: MPS and GLOBALG.A.P.
These international certifications make it demonstrable that a grower works sustainably and safely, with care for the environment and for the people working at the nursery. If you choose a plant from a certified grower, you choose quality, transparency and sustainability.
What does the MPS certification mean?
MPS (Milieu Programma Sierteelt) is an internationally recognised certification system for ornamental horticulture. It helps growers make their cultivation more sustainable and report transparently on their environmental performance.
To obtain an MPS certificate, growers register their use of, among other things:
energy
water
fertilisers
crop protection products
waste streams
An independent organisation checks that data regularly and, based on the measurements, assigns a classification showing how sustainably the grower works. The better the score, the more sustainable the cultivation. Our growers work to this standard, so your plant has grown with as little impact on the environment as possible.
GLOBALG.A.P. certification
GLOBALG.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practice) is a globally recognised standard for good agricultural practice and safe production. The certification sets requirements for:
product and food safety
traceability of plants
responsible use of crop protection
protection of nature and the environment
the working conditions of employees at the nursery
A plant from a GLOBALG.A.P. certified grower is therefore fully traceable from cultivation to delivery and grown according to strict international requirements.
