Details

Air plants with silvery-green leaves, suspended in a metal ring on a stand. No soil needed; water them by misting or briefly submerging them.

Species: Tillandsia · Height: 30 cm (including nursery pot) · Size: ø17 cm

The Tillandsia Ring Mix is a cluster of air plants with fine, silvery-green leaves, suspended in a metal ring on a stand. Tillandsia grows without potting soil and absorbs water and nutrients through its leaves. The whole arrangement is 30 cm tall and measures ø17 cm.

As no pot or soil is needed, you can simply place it on a windowsill, desk or bookcase. It also suits a bright bathroom, where the humid air benefits it. Place it in a bright spot, but not in intense midday sun. Mist the plants with water a few times a week or briefly submerge them once a week, then allow them to dry thoroughly. According to the ASPCA, Tillandsia is non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Tillandsia

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How large is this Tillandsia Ring Mix?

The whole arrangement is 30 cm tall and measures ø17 cm. The air plants grow very slowly, so the size remains approximately the same.

How do you water a tillandsia?

Mist the plants two to three times a week, or submerge them in lukewarm water for fifteen minutes once a week. Then allow them to drain and dry thoroughly, otherwise the centre may rot.

Does a tillandsia need soil?

No, in nature a tillandsia grows on trees and rocks and absorbs water and nutrients through its leaves. It can therefore grow without a pot or potting soil in a ring or on a stand.

Where should you place a tillandsia?

In a bright location without intense midday sun, for example near an east-facing window or in a bright bathroom. Directly above a radiator, it dries out too quickly.

Is a tillandsia toxic to cats and dogs?

No, the ASPCA lists tillandsia as non-toxic to cats and dogs. Cats do enjoy playing with the fine leaves, so it is best to place it a little higher.
