Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also stand in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Small 18 cm size, fits on a windowsill, desk or shelf.
Con: Doesn't purify the air or grow like a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you'll need to dust it now and then.

Details

Lifelike artificial Pilea Peperomioides pancake plant. Playful and maintenance-free.

Species: Pilea peperomioides (artificial plant) · Height: 18 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant is a replica of a Chinese money plant (Pilea peperomioides), with round, mint-green leaves on thin stems pointing in all directions. It is 18 cm tall and stands in a pot of ø9 cm, just right for a small spot.

Place it on your desk, a wall shelf or the windowsill, in the living room, kitchen or office. Since an artificial plant needs no light, it also works well on a shelf far from the window or in a bathroom without daylight. No watering or repotting needed, and the leaves keep the same colour all year. Wipe them occasionally with a dry cloth or brush. A handy choice if you love the shape of the Pilea but don't have green fingers.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

When will your plant arrive?

Frequently asked questions about Pilea peperomioides

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial Pilea peperomioides?

Dust it now and then with a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to keep the leaves looking fresh. The artificial Pilea peperomioides needs no other maintenance: no water and no light.

How real does an artificial Pilea peperomioides look?

It is a lifelike replica, with the round, pancake-shaped leaves. From a few metres away most people will not notice it is an artificial plant. Up very close, or if you touch the leaves, you can tell it is not real.

Past een kunst Pilea peperomioides in een sierpot?

The artificial Pilea peperomioides comes in a standard pot (ø9 cm, depending on the size). Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot doesn't show. As it doesn't need water, the decorative pot doesn't need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial Pilea peperomioides outside or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial Pilea peperomioides is UV- and weather-resistant, so it can also go outside, for example on a patio or balcony. The colours stay good, even in the sun. Outdoors, do place it firmly or weigh down the pot so it doesn't blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial Pilea peperomioides delivered?

We ship the artificial Pilea peperomioides well protected in a closed box. It usually arrives within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will sort out a solution.
