Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Heeft geen water of licht nodig, dus kan ook op een donkere plek staan.
Pro: Blijft altijd in vorm en laat geen blad vallen.
Pro: Hangende stelen staan mooi op een plank of hoge kast.
Con: Doesn't purify the air or grow like a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you'll need to dust it now and then.

Details

Lifelike artificial Tradescantia plant with hanging stems. Maintenance-free.

Species: Tradescantia sp. (artificial plant) · Height: 32 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant is a replica of an inch plant (Tradescantia), with pointed little leaves striped in purple and green with a silvery sheen. It is 32 cm tall and stands in a pot of ø9 cm, with trailing stems that hang a little over the edge.

Place it on a cabinet, a high shelf or on the windowsill, where the trailing stems can hang down. Since it needs no light, it's also suitable for spots with little daylight, such as a hallway or bathroom. A real Tradescantia quickly goes bare; this artificial version keeps its colour and shape. Dusting it occasionally with a dry cloth is the only maintenance. That way you have a colourful trailing plant without watering.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

When will your plant arrive?

Frequently asked questions about Tradescantia sp.

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial Tradescantia?

Dust it now and then with a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to keep the leaves looking fresh. The artificial Tradescantia needs no further care: no water and no light.

How real does an artificial Tradescantia look?

It's a lifelike replica, with the trailing stems. From a few metres away most people won't notice it's an artificial plant. Very close up, or when you touch the leaves, you can tell it isn't real.

Does an artificial Tradescantia fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial Tradescantia comes in a standard pot (ø9 cm, depending on the size). Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot is hidden. As it never needs watering, the decorative pot does not need a watertight base.

Can an artificial Tradescantia go outdoors or in the sun?

Ja.

How is an artificial Tradescantia delivered?

We ship the artificial Tradescantia well protected in a closed box. You will usually receive it within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will sort out a solution.
