Stel je vraagHow many Cornus canadensis do you plant per m²?
With a planting distance of 25 to 30 cm you need about 12 plants per m². The calculator on this page converts your area into a number of plants.
When should you plant bunchberry?
In spring, from March to May, or in autumn, in September and October. Keep the soil moist after planting until the plants have established.
Where does Cornus canadensis grow best?
In partial shade to shade, under trees or shrubs, in acid to neutral soil with plenty of humus. In a dry, sunny spot or in chalky soil it grows poorly.
Is Cornus canadensis hardy?
Yes, bunchberry comes from North America and copes well with severe frost. The leaves largely die back in winter and sprout again in spring.
How fast does Cornus canadensis grow?
It spreads through underground runners, but slowly. It takes a few years before the plants form a closed carpet. Moist, humus-rich soil helps it get going faster.
