Details

Croton with glossy leaves in red, orange, yellow and green. 110 cm tall and colourful, for a bright, warm spot without draughts.

Type: Codiaeum variegatum 'Magnificent' · Height: 110 cm (including nursery pot) · Pot size: ø27 cm

The croton (Codiaeum variegatum 'Magnificent') has thick, glossy leaves in red, orange, yellow and green. The colours vary from leaf to leaf and young leaves are often greener, colouring up further with enough light. This croton is 110 cm tall including nursery pot and comes in a ø27 cm pot.

It adds colour to a bright living room, conservatory or office with plenty of daylight. A croton needs a little more attention than most houseplants: it wants plenty of light, a warm spot without draughts and soil that stays slightly moist. In a spot that is too dark it loses its colour. After being moved it sometimes drops leaves, which usually recover. The croton is toxic to cats and dogs and the milky sap can irritate the skin. It is supplied in the nursery pot, you choose a decorative pot separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Codiaeum variegatum 'Magnificent'

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How big is this croton?

This Codiaeum variegatum 'Magnificent' is 110 cm tall, measured including nursery pot, and comes in a ø27 cm pot. Indoors a croton grows slowly and stays fairly compact.

How much light does a croton need?

A lot. Place it by a window where it gets morning or evening sun. In a dark spot the new leaves turn green and it loses its colours.

Why is my croton dropping leaves?

A croton reacts to being moved, draughts, cold and dry soil by dropping leaves. This can happen briefly after delivery. Give it a permanent, bright and warm spot and keep the soil slightly moist.

How often do you water a croton?

Keep the soil slightly moist, but not wet. Water when the top layer feels dry, in summer often once or twice a week. Use water at room temperature.

Is a croton toxic to cats and dogs?

Yes, the croton is toxic to cats and dogs. The milky sap irritates the mouth and stomach and can also irritate the skin in people. Wear gloves when pruning.

How is the croton delivered?

The plant travels upright in its own plant box, with the crown in a paper sleeve and the pot secured in the box. In frost or heat a heat pack or cold pack is included, and large plants are delivered by our own courier.
