Het mag wel wat plant vriendelijker worden bezorgd. De plant kwam een beetje beschadigd aan. Door dat de bladeren op een onjuiste manier in de doos waren gestopt. Verder is het een mooie plant.

Veelgestelde vragen over Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln'
De vragen die we het vaakst krijgen over deze plant. Staat jouw vraag er niet bij? Onze plantexperts helpen je graag.
Stel je vraagHow many Pennisetum 'Hameln' do you need per m²?
Allow about 4 plants per m², 50 cm apart. For an edge along a path, plant 2 plants per metre. Use the calculator on this page to convert your area into a number of plants.
When do you plant fountain grass?
Ornamental grass is best planted in spring, from April to June, once the soil has warmed up. September is also possible, so the plant can still root before winter.
Where does Pennisetum alopecuroides grow best?
In sun or light partial shade. It flowers most profusely in full sun. The soil should not get too dry.
Is Pennisetum 'Hameln' hardy?
Yes, it is hardy. It is not evergreen: the foliage turns yellow and straw-coloured in autumn. Leave it standing in winter, as that protects the heart of the plant.
When do you prune fountain grass?
Cut the grass back in February to about a hand's width above the ground, before the new leaves emerge. Cutting back in autumn is not necessary.
