The ice plant stays low, about 10 cm, and spreads mainly in width. On delivery the plants are 10 to 12 cm tall in a ø7 cm pot.
Where do you put the ice plant?
In full sun, in soil that drains well. A rock garden, a slope, the edge of the border or a low container on the patio are good spots. In the shade it barely flowers.
Is the ice plant hardy?
Yes, the ice plant is hardy to about -15 °C. It copes better with cold than with wet: in soil that stays wet in winter, it rots. So make sure the soil drains well.
How often does the ice plant need water?
After planting, water regularly until the plants have established. After that the ice plant needs little, because it stores water in its fleshy leaves. In pots, water when the soil is completely dry.
When do you prune the ice plant?
Trim the ice plant lightly in March and in September. That keeps it compact and nicely dense.
How is the ice plant delivered?
Your plants are shipped upright in their own plant box, with the pots secured. In frost or heat a heat pack or cold pack is included. Order from Sunday to Wednesday and you will usually have them within 2-3 working days; from Thursday to Saturday usually within 4-5 working days (Netherlands only).
