Het mag wel wat plant vriendelijker worden bezorgd. De plant kwam een beetje beschadigd aan. Door dat de bladeren op een onjuiste manier in de doos waren gestopt. Verder is het een mooie plant.

Veelgestelde vragen over Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood'
De vragen die we het vaakst krijgen over deze plant. Staat jouw vraag er niet bij? Onze plantexperts helpen je graag.
Stel je vraagHow much space does Japanese maple 'Bloodgood' need?
In the garden give it at least 1.5 to 2 metres of space, as it slowly grows to 3 to 5 metres. In a pot it stays smaller. Choose a pot that is considerably larger than the 19 centimetre nursery pot.
Can Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' go in a pot on the patio?
Yes, Japanese maples do well in a large pot. Use a pot with a drainage hole and good potting compost, and place it against the house wall in winter so the roots do not freeze.
Where do you put a Japanese maple 'Bloodgood'?
In a sheltered spot in sun or partial shade, out of the wind and out of the harsh midday sun. Strong wind and drying out cause brown leaf edges. In full sun the leaves of 'Bloodgood' stay darkest.
Is Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' hardy?
In the open ground it is fully hardy. In a pot the roots are more vulnerable; in severe frost move the pot to a sheltered spot or wrap it. It is deciduous, so it is bare in winter.
Do you need to prune a Japanese maple?
Pruning is usually not necessary, the tree keeps its shape by itself. Only remove dead or crossing branches, in summer or late autumn. In spring the wounds bleed.
