Japanese maple 'Emerald Lace' (Acer palmatum) has finely cut, lacy leaves that emerge fresh green in spring. In autumn the leaves turn gold and red before they fall. The plant is 70 cm tall and comes in a ø19 cm pot. It grows slowly and stays compact.

This makes it suitable for a small garden and for a roomy pot on a patio or balcony. In a border or by a pond the fine leaves stand out well against coarser greenery. Place it in partial shade or a spot with morning sun, sheltered from strong wind, in soil that stays slightly moist. The tree is hardy and loses its leaves in winter.
