Japanese sedge 'Aureovariegata' (Carex morrowii) is an evergreen, clump-forming ornamental grass with narrow, glossy leaves. Each leaf has a yellow edge, which brightens shady spots. You receive young plants of 10 to 25 cm in a ø9 cm pot. Fully grown, the plant reaches 30 to 40 cm.

This sedge does well in partial shade and shade, under trees, along a path or in a north-facing border. It also looks good in a pot. It likes moist soil that still drains well. With about 7 plants per m² it forms a closed green layer after a few years. The plant is hardy and needs little maintenance.
