The Ctenanthe oppenheimiana is related to the prayer plant and has long, narrow leaves with silvery-green stripes on a dark green background and a wine-red underside. Together they form a dense clump that, in this specimen, is 130 cm tall including the grow pot, in a pot of ø27 cm.

It's a tall floor plant for next to the sofa or in a corner of the bedroom, and since it's non-toxic to cats and dogs, a good choice for a home with pets. Place it in bright light, but out of direct sun. Keep the soil lightly moist and preferably use low-lime or rainwater. Higher humidity prevents dry leaf tips, so a bathroom with a window or a plant mister helps. Supplied in the grow pot.
