Details

Nine small tropical houseplants in ø6 cm pots, 5 to 15 cm tall, for a shelf, desk or windowsill. The species vary with each delivery.

Contents: 9 plants · Height: 5 to 15 cm (including nursery pot) · Pot size: ø6 cm

This surprise box contains nine small tropical houseplants, each in a ø6 cm nursery pot and between 5 and 15 cm tall. The species and leaf colours vary with each delivery, so you do not know exactly which plants you will receive in advance.

The plants are small enough for a desk, bookshelf, windowsill or the edge of the bath. You can also grow them on further and repot them later. Place them in a bright spot without direct sunlight, for example on a north-facing windowsill or on a shelf a short distance from the window. Give a little water regularly; such small pots dry out quickly. A warm room suits most tropical species best.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Diverse tropische kamerplanten

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

Which plants are in the surprise box?

The box contains nine small tropical houseplants. The species and colours vary with each delivery, so you do not know exactly which ones you will receive in advance.

How large are the plants in the surprise box?

The plants are between 5 and 15 cm tall, measured including the nursery pot, and each is in a ø6 cm pot. They are young plants that can continue to grow.

How do you care for the plants from the surprise box?

Place them in bright light but out of direct sunlight and water them when the top layer of soil is dry. Small pots dry out quickly, so check a few times a week.

When should you repot small houseplants?

When roots grow out of the bottom of the pot or when the soil dries out very quickly. Choose a pot that is a few centimetres larger and preferably repot in spring.

Are the plants in the surprise box toxic to cats and dogs?

That depends on the species in your box, and these vary with each delivery. A number of tropical houseplants are toxic to cats and dogs. Look up the species and, if in doubt, keep them out of reach of pets.
