Calathea rufibarba 'Wavestar' is a velvet calathea with narrow, wavy leaves on thin stems. The upper side is green in dark and lighter shades, while the underside is dark purplish red. This plant is 80 cm tall including nursery pot and comes in a pot of ø19 cm.

It likes high humidity, so a bright bathroom or kitchen is a good place. In the living room, a humidifier or a bowl of water nearby helps. Place it in bright, indirect light and keep the soil consistently lightly moist without leaving water in the pot. Preferably use low-lime water. According to the ASPCA, Calathea is non-toxic to cats and dogs. It comes in a nursery pot; you can choose a decorative pot yourself.
