Details

Sturdy ZZ plant of 75 cm with glossy dark green leaves. Needs little water and also manages in a place with less daylight.

Species: Zamioculcas zamiifolia · Height: 75 cm (including nursery pot) · Pot size: ø21 cm

The ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) has thick, upright stems with glossy, dark green leaflets arranged like a feather along the stem. This plant is 75 cm tall including the nursery pot and comes in a pot of ø21 cm.

It fits on a sideboard, beside the sofa or on a desk at the office, and it also copes in a hallway with little daylight. A good houseplant if you often forget to water, because the thick rhizomes store water. Place it in light to partial shade without bright sun and let the soil dry out completely before watering again. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It is supplied in the nursery pot; choose a decorative pot separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Zamioculcas zamiifolia

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How large is this ZZ plant?

This ZZ plant is 75 cm tall, measured including the nursery pot, and comes in a pot of ø21 cm. It grows slowly, so it will remain approximately this size for several years.

Where should you place a ZZ plant?

It grows best in a bright spot without strong afternoon sun. It also tolerates partial shade, such as a hallway or a north-facing room, but produces fewer new stems there.

How often should you water a ZZ plant?

Only water when the potting soil is completely dry, usually once every two to three weeks in summer. In winter, once a month is often enough. Too much water is the most common cause of problems.

Is a ZZ plant toxic to cats and dogs?

Yes, the ZZ plant is toxic to cats and dogs. All parts contain calcium oxalate, which causes irritation in the mouth and stomach. Keep it out of reach of pets that chew on plants.

Why is my ZZ plant getting yellow leaves?

Yellow leaflets and a soft stem base almost always indicate too much water. Let the soil dry out longer and water less often. A single yellow leaflet at the base of an old stem is normal.
