Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also go in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Large leaves instantly create a full, green spot in the room.
Con: Does not purify the air or grow over time the way a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you need to wipe the leaves with a damp cloth now and then.

Details

This artificial Ficus Lyrata (Fiddle-Leaf Fig) brings the iconic urban jungle look into your home with large, lifelike fiddle-shaped leaves in deep, glossy green. Maintenance-free and always fresh — ideal as a statement piece without any care worries.

Species: Ficus lyrata (artificial plant) · Height: 125 cm · Pot size: ø14 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant is a replica of the fiddle-leaf fig (Ficus lyrata), with large, violin-shaped leaves with light veins on a straight stem. The foliage has the sheen and shape of the living plant, so it looks natural from a distance. The artificial plant is 125 cm tall and stands in a pot of ø14 cm. Place it in a decorative pot beside the sofa, in a hallway or in a meeting room. Because it needs no light or water, you can put it in spots where a living fiddle-leaf fig wouldn't survive, such as a corridor without a window or a dark corner. Dusting it now and then with a soft cloth or duster is the only maintenance it needs. A decorative pot is chosen separately.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Ficus lyrata

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial Ficus lyrata?

Wipe the leaves now and then with a slightly damp cloth and it will look fresh again. The artificial Ficus lyrata needs no further care: no water, no feed and no sun.

How real does an artificial Ficus lyrata look?

It is a lifelike replica, with large, fiddle-shaped leaves in a deep glossy green. From a few metres away most people cannot tell it is an artificial plant. Very close up, or if you touch the leaves, you will notice it is not real.

Does an artificial Ficus lyrata fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial Ficus lyrata comes in a standard pot (ø12 to ø23 cm, depending on the size). Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider and the pot won't show. As it never gets water, the decorative pot doesn't need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial Ficus lyrata outside or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial Ficus lyrata is UV and weather resistant, so it can also stand outdoors, for example on a patio or balcony. The colours keep looking good, even in the sun. Outdoors, do make sure it stands firmly or weigh down the pot, so that it does not blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial Ficus lyrata delivered?

We send the artificial Ficus lyrata well protected in a closed box. The largest plants go with a specialist carrier, otherwise PostNL or DHL. It usually arrives within 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we will sort out a solution.
