Pros and cons

According to our plant experts

Pro: Needs no water or light, so it can also go in a dark spot.
Pro: Always keeps its shape and never drops leaves.
Pro: Available from compact (53 cm) to tree size (180 cm).
Con: Doesn't purify the air or grow like a real plant does.
Con: Collects dust, so you'll need to dust it now and then.

Details

Lifelike 53 cm Maple artificial plant. Elegant, compact, and maintenance-free.

Species: Acer sp. (artificial plant) · Height: 53 cm · Pot size: ø13 cm · Material: plastic

This artificial plant mimics a young maple (Acer), with a thin little trunk and finely cut, hand-shaped leaves that look natural up close. It is 53 cm tall and stands in a pot of ø13 cm.

Thanks to this size, it fits on a desk, a windowsill or an open shelf, in the living room, bedroom or office. Since it doesn't need daylight, you can also place it where a live plant would struggle, such as a dark hallway or a north-facing room. No watering, pruning or feeding needed. Give it an occasional going-over with a duster or dry cloth to keep the leaves dust-free. Handy if you like seeing greenery but don't want to spend time on it.

Delivery

Shipping a two-metre plant takes more than a box and some tape. That's why we do it differently from an ordinary online shop.

How your plant arrives in one piece

Fresh from the greenhouse
Your plant does not sit in a warehouse for weeks. The grower only takes it out of the greenhouse after you order and prepares it straight away.
Packed securely
In a box made for plants. Plant and soil are secured and a protective sleeve keeps the leaves intact, so nothing shifts on the way.
Protected from heat and frost
Is it very hot or freezing outside? Then we add a cold pack or heat pack to the box, so the weather doesn't affect your plant on the way.
The right carrier for every size
Smaller plants are delivered by PostNL or DHL. The very largest plants travel upright on a pallet with a specialist carrier.
You know exactly when it arrives
As soon as your plant is on its way, you receive track & trace by email, so you can make sure someone is home and, for a large plant, someone to help carry it in.

Frequently asked questions about Acer sp.

The questions we're asked most about this plant. Can't find yours? Our plant experts are happy to help.

Ask your question

How do you clean an artificial maple?

Dust it now and then with a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to keep the leaves looking fresh. The artificial maple needs no other maintenance: no water and no light.

How real does an artificial maple look?

It is a lifelike replica, with finely shaped maple leaves. From a few metres away most people cannot tell it is artificial. Up close, or if you touch the leaves, you can tell it is not real.

Will an artificial maple fit in a decorative pot?

The artificial maple comes in a standard pot (ø13 to ø20 cm, depending on the size). Place it, pot and all, in a decorative pot a few centimetres wider so the pot is hidden. As it never needs watering, the decorative pot does not need a watertight base.

Can you put an artificial maple outside or in the sun?

Yes. The artificial maple is UV and weather resistant, so it can also go outside, for example on the patio or balcony. The colours stay looking good, even in the sun. Outdoors, do position it firmly or weigh down the pot so it doesn't blow over in strong wind.

How is an artificial maple delivered?

We send the artificial maple well protected in a closed box. The largest plants go with a specialist carrier, otherwise with PostNL or DHL. Delivery usually takes 4 to 5 working days. If anything is damaged on arrival, send us photos and we'll sort out a solution.
